                                    SWACHH BHARAT POSTA Compilation of Print and Digital Media Stories from 2021-2026 of Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0In line with the Hon%u2019ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi%u2019s vision of Garbage Free Cities, Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 was launched for a period of 5 years (2021-2026). The Mission signifies a step forward in the march towards effectively addressing the challenges of rapidly urbanising India and is also helping to contribute towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 envisions to make all cities %u2018garbage free%u2019 and ensure grey and black water management other than those covered under AMRUT, make all urban local bodies open defecation free+ and those with a population of less than one lakh as open defecation free++, thereby achieving the vision of safe sanitation in urban areas.For the first time, Swachh Bharat Post comes to you as a chronicle of a movement - captured, questioned, celebrated and amplified through the powerful lens of media. Over the past five years of Swachh Bharat Mission%u2013Urban 2.0, print and digital media have not merely reported a government programme; they have documented the evolution of a national jan andolan that reshaped India%u2019s urban narrative.Going forward, through the annual edition of Swachh Bharat Post, the aim is to bring news stories, features, op-eds and expert commentaries, as captured by the media - initiatives aimed at behaviour change, policy and institutional reforms, capacity building of urban local bodies, and the increasing role of technology, startups and innovation. It will also document through the media lens, how cities are moving towards the Garbage Free Cities vision%u2014scientifically processing legacy waste, reclaiming urban land, and treating waste as a resource.From ensuring sanitation for all, to the progression from ODF cities to Water+ certification; from open dumpsites to green and usable urban spaces; and from basic waste management to resource efficiency, the media has consistently covered the expanding scope of Swachh Bharat Mission%u2013Urban 2.0.Through Swachh Bharat Post, we attempt to summarise and reflect this media journey%u2014presenting the evolution, priorities and impact of the Mission in a balanced manner.
